Harlan R. Moreland

Funeral services and burial for Harlan R. Moreland, 44, who died Friday at his home, 3348 E. Washington, will be in Leroy, Ill., Camelback Chapel and Funeral Home announced.

Mr. Moreland, a native of Illinois, came to Phoenix three years ago. He was a chef.

He is suvived by his wife, Laura; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Moreland in Illinois; a brother, James of Tucson; and two other brothers and a sister out of state.

Le Roy —(PNS)— Harlan Richard (Dick) Moreland, 44, died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his home in Phoenix, Ariz. He had lived and worked as a chef in Bloomington, Peoria, Decatur and Springfield before moving to Arizona four years ago.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Stensel Funeral Home, the Rev. William c. Goodrow officiating. Burial will be in the Secor Cemetery at Secor.

Visitation begins at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Moreland was born at Eureka March 24, 1917, the son of Richard and Carrie Street Moreland.

Surviving are his wife, Laura, Flagstaff, Ariz.; his mother of Downs; two daughters, Mrs. Deryl Schertz, Minier; Mrs. Richard Martinez, Flagstaff, Ariz.; three sons, Ronald, McLean; Richard, Fort Madison, Iowa; Jerry, Stanford; a sister, Mrs. Julia Young, Downs; and three brothers, Gay, 605 McClun, Bloomington; Virgil, Tucson, Ariz.; and Kenneth, McLean. His father preceded him in death.
