Kathleen Dean Hottle Sweeney, 94, of Maurertown, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ at Harrisville (west of Toms Brook). Pastor Joe Fleming will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sweeney was born August 21, 1914 in Shenandoah County, daughter of the late William and Kate Dean Hottle. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and married to the late Emmitt Everet Sweeney.

She is survived by her son, Lynn William Sweeney of Abingdon, Maryland; daughter, Glenda Eileen Sweeney of Arlington; two granddaughters, Jalyn Sweeney Tiffany of Chicago, Illinois and Shannon Sweeney Ritter of Delaware and one great granddaughter, Isabella Paige Ritter.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
